A Little Faith..
Emotions are tricky things to handle.
Very seldom do they provide us with a clear picture of what is.
They often exaggerate or bring down the actual magnitude of something.
And when their influence is at its strongest, it makes us do stupid things.
It also gives us dark thoughts, things that we may not be ready to handle.
In the long run we may hurt ourselves, to levels we may not even understand.
Yet emotions also provides the motivation for seemly impossible tasks.
It gives us the impetus to strive for greater heights.
A single minded determination to drive ourselves.
One that will find its way through the obstacles placed before us.
A passion that smashes through everything.
Whether does it do us good or ill, emotions are something we must contend with.
To know when to listen to it and when not to.
Like so many things in life it has two sides: it may aid us or kill us.
Given sufficient understanding of our own emotions, we can exploit them to our advantage.
To minimize its ills and magnify its advantages.
There are things even emotions cannot cheat.
We need to look at the facts with a fair mind and without prejudice.
The practical effects on things in our lives.
From here we make a decision based on what we want.
Understand what is possible or not.
We may hide ourselves from the whole world.
But at the end of the day we still need to be truthful to ourselves, in order to find the way forward.
If we cannot take charge of our own future, who can?
Very often it is difficult to be truthful to ourselves isn't it?
Especially when the facts we see so contradict what we want.
We may choose to believe otherwise.
Yet at the end of the day reality still comes knocking on our door.
We may delay the inevitable, but we are still answerable for ourselves and loved ones.
Such is life, full of contradictions and difficult choices.
Make a choice, and we may end up having to give up the things we want.
Yet it may be even worse to not make any choice at all.
We must find the strength to look beyond our emotions and at the hard facts.
To resolve these contradictions so that we can make the right choice.
We cannot have everything in life.
Disappointment is just something we need to learn to be strong against.
In order to achieve something, we must be ready to pay the price and effort for it.
It is here I have found my peace.
Peace is not wholesale ignorance or isolation from what is around us.
Rather, it is to look at our concerns with a fair mind, an to make a resolution from there.
And to accept the costs associated with it.
Knowledge alone does not save us.
It is what we decide to do with it that counts.
We may try to make things easier for ourselves, but we always need to keep the original goal in mind.
Escape only brings us even more contradictions.
We may hide now, but for how long before we will need to face them again?
It may be tomorrow, it may be many months or years from now.
Or worse, at a time when we need the least of these contradictions to be present.
There comes a time when the 'why' becomes less important than the 'what's next'.
After all it is over.
The answers of what is right or wrong will come back to us in the future.
The least we can do is to be thankful that we were given a chance to go through all these.
Have some faith.
A little faith can do big things.
Crisis often provokes innovation.
Through hard times we learn and find our peace.
It is only here where we begin to treasure the right things.
