Down The Rabbit Hole

Photobucket

How deep does the rabbit hole go?
What is the true extent of darkness?
It seems to have no end.
After each fall we hit new lows.
We thought it couldn't get worse.
But it does.

Yet it seems to me no matter how far I fall, there is still Hope.
Stubbornly resisting the collapsing darkness.
A faint but warm light penetrating into heavy air.
And it will always be there, no matter how deep we fall.
We simply have to catch it.

Perhaps we were struck by the weight of the moment.
Deafened by the loud wails of circumstance,
That we fail to see Hope.
But after we set ourselves in single-minded determination to fight back,
We see Hope stretching our its hands for us,
Ready to give us strength for what needs to be done.

Or perhaps our cause was not rightful.
It was never meant to be in the first place.
That is why Hope was not present.
You see, Hope only sides with what is right, with what makes sense.

If there is no future, there is no Hope.
Sometimes we just have to admit it never will be, and move on.

There is always something for us somewhere.
We may not be where we want to,
But there is always something for us there.
This is the basic tenet of Hope.
No matter how bad things are, there is always Hope.
We just need to admit what we must and work on it.

Suffering makes us learn.
We have failed, and that is why we suffer.
It is not the first time we suffered.
Nor will it be the last.
Sometimes we just have no choice but to accept such an outcome.
Defeat is double its shame if we refuse to accept our fault.

We suffer when we first fall into that deep dark hole.
It is even more painful climbing out of it.
The pain serves two purpose:
First it toughens us up for the greater things in life.
Second it reminds us not to do such wrong again.
The dark is cold and unforgiving.

We strive hard to climb out of the darkness.
The faint light at the top gives us Hope.
And also because climbing up is the only logical way forward.
There's no use feeling sorry for yourself and forever remain fallen in the dark.
It will only be worse.

It is a special kind of joy I have felt.
Joy and peace in the midst of all these suffering.
Not because I enjoy the pain, but I am glad to be learning.
Having seen the darkness, I have a greater appreciation of the Light.
Pain is just the currency we trade for lessons.
After it all I thought, it is worth it.
